
Savannah Beach & Racquet Club is the best kept secret on Tybee Island, and, there are many “secrets” on Tybee Island to be discovered.
If you’re looking for a wonderful vacation home, you will find the condominiums offered, by the OWNERS, at Savannah Beach & Racquet Club worth considering. Our condos are individually owned and offered for your consideration. You can browse the various ads and ask all the questions you need to be comfortable that you’re getting the right vacation location for your family, your needs and your budget.
All of the condos are approximately the same size. The beachfront locations are about 460 sqft and the side locations are about 490 sqft. The decks are about 30 sqft. Each has a living room / kitchen combination and one bedroom with one bath. Some have shipmate bunks built in and some have removed the bunks to provide more storage space. Some are original condos and some have been remodeled and updated.
You will find our condominium community is very guest friendly and welcomes our summer visitors like old friends. We are located at 1217 Bay Street, just as you drive onto the island. We’re in a quiet residential area, away from traffic and crowds. We are a gated community with access restricted to our owners and guests. All guests will be provided a gate access card for entry. Tybee Island offers 3 miles of beach and we’re on the north beach where public access is limited which makes for a less crowded beach.
Elevators are located on the south end of each building. Handicap access ramps are located on the south end of building B and the east side of building A.
We offer two swimming pools with a kiddie pool, and three tennis courts for your enjoyment.
Savannah Beach & Racquet Club is a beachfront property with two buildings that face the beach. Two dune walks to the beach are located beside each of our buildings. So, no matter which condo you choose, you’re always just footsteps away from the sand.

Many of us provide our guests with beach chairs, beach towels and pool noodles. All kitchens are well equipped. Most have been upgraded to include dishwashers. You’ll find waffle irons and crock pots, too ! Be sure and ask any questions about the specific condo you’re considering. Let’s face it – You can get a microwave and coffee-maker in most basic motels. Caring owners will provide for your comfort more than any rental agency or hotel anywhere !
You will find a good supply of bath linens and you’ll notice the quality. Our towels are thick and soft and fluffy. Our bed linens are nice quality and our comforters are laundered regularly. You don’t have to pay extra to purchase a linen package to get sufficient linens for your stay. And, we don’t expect you to spend your vacation washing towels.
Most rental agencies will offer DVDs with the rental units, but when you rent directly from owners, you will have a selection of DVDs, CDs, games and books…. and you don’t have to rent them from us. If there are children in your party, please let us know the age of each child. We are well known for “loving the kids” and welcome them with a nice selection of movies, that are age appropriate, books and games.
Be comfortable that “what you see IS what you get”. You will not walk in the door and find unpleasant surprises in these condominiums. We don’t use professional photographers to enhance the photos to give an appearance that is not accurate. We pride ourselves on providing the cleanest condos on Tybee Island. We all use private housekeepers who take the time necessary to properly clean each condo between guests. They aren’t on time limits as is so common with agencies.
As you drive through the entrance gate, we would like to remind you that you MUST use your assigned gate card each time. Please don’t tailgate behind the car in front of you. Our barrier arm will only admit ONE CAR at a time. Don’t start your vacation with a ‘ding’ on the roof of your car.
You can see in the photos that we have “beachfront” condos with wonderful views of the ocean and beach from the individual decks and the view changes as you move from the north end of each building to the south. The beach is to the north. Our condos offer a variety of views, from “beachfront” to “good water view” to “some water view” to “no water view”. But regardless of the view, you’re only steps from the pool and walkways to the beach. These photos were taken from the beach so you can see that you are very close.
Just inside the gates, you’ll see the office and clubhouse on the left. Wireless internet hot spots are available on the clubhouse deck and on the upper deck at the pool. A couple of the condos have WiFi, so please look for that in the descriptions if it’s important to you.
As you drive in, the pool is directly in front of you. The A building is on the right and the B building is on the left. Most of the condos you’ll find on this websites are more easily accessed if you drive around to the back of the buildings and park at the north end of the building.
Our pool deck, dune walks and seating area, at the end of the dune walk, will provide you with hours of entertainment. Barges pass daily, as they enter or leave the Savannah River port. A variety of watercraft will pass our beach, from the gambling boat to dolphin tour boats. Kayakers and jet skiers are a daily site. We even have occasional wind surfers, which is my personal favorite. If you’re staying in a beachfront condo, you’ll have the view from your condo, but you don’t have to be in a beachfront to enjoy all Savannah Beach and Racquet Club has to offer.

We are easy to find. Follow all directions to Tybee Island. The final bridge you’ll cross before the City Limits is the Lazaretto Creek Bridge. You’ll notice a divided highway as you come off the bridge. SLOW DOWN … When the divided highway ends, move into the left lane. You will turn left on Byers Street, which is the first turn after the divided highway ends. There is a small SBRC sign at the turn. If you can’t move into the left lane fast enough, don’t worry. Just past Byers you’ll see a shopping area on the left. Turn left on McKenzie Street, just past the shopping area, and go to the STOP sign. Turn left at the STOP sign and we’ll be on your right.
As you would expect, there are rules to be followed in a condominium property, due to close quarters. We ask that all of our guests be courteous and reduce noise after 8:00 PM. And, we hope that those in the condo next to you will show you the same courtesy.
Each condo has ONE parking space. If you require more than one space, please discuss it with the person you’re making your reservation with. We do not have parking accommodations for boats and recreational vehicles.
While our condos are all non-smoking homes, you are free to smoke on the deck if you’d like. We do provide ash cans on each deck and request that you use them and not throw the “butts” over the deck railing.
All toddlers are required, by state law, to wear “swimmers” when swimming in the pools. This is for the health and safety of everyone. It also eliminates the need to close our pools, due to accidents.
Pets are strictly prohibited in all the rental condos.
You should be provided with a copy of the association and pool rules with your reservation. If you don’t receive one, please ask for it.
Please take a tour of our vacation rental homes. There are a few things that are the same with all of them so let me just explain those once.
All reservation requests must include your home contact information and the number of guests (adults and children specified) that will be in your group. You will be asked to send a deposit to the owner within 3 days of the reservation to confirm your booking. The balance is due 10 days prior to arrival. If your reservation is within 21 days of the date of arrival, you will be asked to send the full amount. The owners accept money orders and personal checks. Some accept PayPal and credit cards which are required for bookings made less than 7 days from your arrival date.
